Baby Isaiah is here!

Isaiah James was born on April 9, 2010 at 8:46 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 10.5 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long (or 21 inches according to our doctor at his first visit). I'm thinking our doctor is right, but I guess the birth certificate will say 19 1/2. :) He is just perfect!

I started having small contractions really early Friday morning. They weren't bad and were very sporadic. I called the doctor's office around 9:30, and they said to come in around 11:00 just to check me. I thought maybe I would be about 1 or 2 cm. Steven was meeting with a client at 11, so Jamie and I went. When Dr. Barnes checked, I was already at 4 - 5 cm! I couldn't believe it! They weren't really hurting bad at all. I think Jamie was more excited at that time because I was just kind of shocked. He told me he was calling the hospital to tell them I was on the way. I asked if I had time to go home first because I wanted to see Anderson, but Dr. Barnes said by looking at my face and the fact that I was at 4 or 5 cm, I should probably go ahead and go to the hospital. These contractions were NOTHING compared to the contractions I had with Anderson at 5 cm. So I immediately called Steven, and we all headed to the hospital. I won't go into too much detail, but I will say this labor was much easier than Anderson. Steven and Jamie were there the whole time and helped me get through it. :) Dr. Barnes was there to deliver, and he was wonderful! It was nice to have my doctor deliver this time - what a big difference it made. Isaiah finally made it out at 8:46, and words just can't describe how it feels when you see your baby for the first time. It's something you could do over and over again because it's just so special. And it's such a special thing between me and Steven. They put him on my chest right after delivery, and it was wonderful! We are so excited Isaiah is here!!!! Hope you enjoy the pictures. There will be many more to follow. :)
